Why People Choose This Firm

Why South Denver clients choose this firm.

Colorado Boulevard has a lawyer on every billboard. The people who hire us from this side of the city tend to be looking for four specific things.

Every case is built for trial.

Insurers value a claim by what happens if it does not settle. Our cases are prepared from the first week as though a Denver or Arapahoe County jury will decide them, and our verdicts are why the offers change.

You are known by name.

The attorney who meets with you is the attorney on your case. You will have a direct line, a paralegal assigned to your file, and updates you do not have to chase.

No upfront costs. No fees unless we win.

The consultation is free and we work on a contingency fee. If there is no recovery, you owe us nothing. We do not add interest to case costs.

We know both sides of the county line.

A crash on Hampden may belong in Denver District Court while one a mile south belongs in Arapahoe County. We try cases in both districts and know how each one runs, which avoids losing months to a venue fight at the start.

What We See From South Denver

The injuries that come out of this part of the city.

Geography shapes cases. South Denver carries commuter volume on wide arterials that cut through residential neighborhoods, sits next to a university, and holds three of the region’s busiest hospitals. The cases that walk into this office cluster into familiar patterns.

After A Crash In South Denver

What to do in the first week.

Get checked, even if you feel fine. Soft tissue, concussion, and disc injuries often take a day or two to show themselves, and adrenaline hides a lot at the scene. An early medical visit protects your health and creates the record your claim will rest on.

Get the report. Crashes on Denver streets are handled by the Denver Police Department. South of the county line, Englewood, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village and the Arapahoe County Sheriff each keep their own reports, and I-25 crashes are usually worked by the Colorado State Patrol. We pull the right report and the 911 audio for you as part of the case.

Do not give a recorded statement. The other driver’s insurer will call quickly and ask for one. You are not required to give it, and those statements are regularly used against people. Talk to a lawyer first.

Know the deadlines. Most Colorado car crash claims must be settled or filed within three years of the crash (C.R.S. § 13-80-101(1)(n)); most other injury claims carry two years. If the City and County of Denver, Arapahoe County, a city south of the line, or RTD is involved, written notice is due within 182 days under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act. Medical malpractice claims carry their own two-year deadline and a certificate of review requirement, so those cases need to start sooner.

Serving South Denver

Close to the hospitals, close to the courts.

South Denver sits between two of the region’s busiest medical corridors and two judicial districts. That matters more than it sounds: your treatment records, your specialists, and the court that will decide your case are often on different sides of a county line, and someone has to keep all of it moving.

From this office we handle car and truck collisions, pedestrian and bicycle injuries, premises liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death claims. Every file is prepared for trial from the first week, because that is what changes an insurer’s valuation long before a courtroom is involved.

Where These Cases Are Heard

Two districts, one corridor.

South Denver straddles a county line. A crash on one side of Hampden may be filed in Denver, and one a mile south may belong in Arapahoe County. Getting that right at the outset avoids losing months to a venue fight.

Denver District Court

Second Judicial District, City and County Building, 1437 Bannock Street, about fifteen minutes north of this office. Handles most serious injury claims arising within the City and County of Denver.

Arapahoe County District Court

Eighteenth Judicial District, Arapahoe County Justice Center, 7325 S Potomac Street in Centennial. Covers Englewood, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Littleton, Centennial and much of the area south of Denver’s boundary.

United States District Court, District of Colorado

Alfred A. Arraj Courthouse, 901 19th Street. Where federal claims or out-of-state defendants may put the case, including interstate trucking and some civil rights matters.

Where Crashes Happen Here

The roads we see cases from.

This part of the city carries commuter volume on wide arterials that run straight through residential neighborhoods, which is a combination that produces high-speed collisions in places people expect to feel safe.

Colorado Boulevard

Six lanes of near-constant traffic with commercial driveways feeding directly onto it. A recurring source of left-turn, rear-end, and pedestrian collisions.

Interstate 25 and the Evans and Colorado interchanges

Short merges and heavy congestion produce chain-reaction rear-end crashes, frequently involving commercial vehicles.

East Evans and East Hampden Avenues

High-speed arterials crossing dense residential grids, with long gaps between protected crossings.

University Boulevard and South Downing

Bicycle and pedestrian volume around Washington Park and the university, sharing lanes with commuter traffic.

Common Questions

Questions about our South Denver office.

My crash was in Englewood, not Denver. Can you still help?

Yes. We handle claims across the metro area and statewide. Where the crash happened determines which court hears the case, not whether we can represent you.

How long do I have to file?

Three years from a motor vehicle crash under C.R.S. § 13-80-101(1)(n), and two years for most other injury claims, including medical malpractice. Claims involving a city, county, or RTD require written notice within 182 days.

I was treated at Swedish or Porter. Do you need those records?

Yes, and we request them for you. Your treatment records are the foundation of the claim, and gaps in care are used against clients regularly. Keep every appointment and tell us if a provider is not listening.

The other driver’s insurer already called me. What do I say?

As little as possible, and nothing recorded. You are not required to give the other side a statement. Give them our number instead and let us handle the contact.

Do I have to come to the office?

No. Most first conversations happen by phone or video, and if your injuries make travel difficult we will come to you.

What does the consultation cost?

Nothing. We work on a contingency fee, so there is no fee unless we recover for you.
